John Cena and Idris Elba to Star in Nobody Director Ilya Naishuller’s Heads of State

As revealed by The Hollywood Reporter on October 26, 2022, Ilya Naishuller’s “Heads of State” will feature John Cena and Idris Elba. Amazon Studios got its hands on the project in 2020, which DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran and John Rickard of The Safran Company will produce. Unfortunately, details regarding this action-comedy are slim at the time of this writing, so slim that we don’t even know who Cena and Elba will be playing. All we know is that it’s supposed to be a cross between “Air Force One” and “Midnight Run,” written by Harrison Query, Josh Appelbaum, and André Nemec.

If reports are indeed true that “Heads of State” will mix comedy and action, then there’s no denying that Idris Elba and John Cena are a winning star combination. To date, the two actors have starred in only one film together, 2021’s “The Suicide Squad” where they starred Robert DuBois, aka Bloodsport, and Christopher Smith, aka Peacemaker, respectively. Throughout the James Gunn-led comic book adventure, they’ve had the chance to flex their action and comedy muscles – often opposite each other – proving that there certainly is. a natural chemistry between them on camera.

“Heads of State” currently doesn’t have a release date, but hopefully more information will be available soon on this production directed by Idris Elba and John Cena.
