TEHRAN — The MIMS Automobility Moscow 2022 kicked off at the Moscow Exhibition Center on Monday.
The inaugural ceremony of the international exhibition was attended by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Albert Karimov, Iranian Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade Reza Fatemi-Amin and Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali.
Head of Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) sees Iran’s presence at Moscow Auto Show as a serious start for greater Iran-Russia cooperation in manufacturing automotive and, more importantly, in the fields of supplying and exporting auto parts.
Remarks on the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony of the expo, Alireza Peyman-Pak said that “the automotive sector”, “auto parts” and “the automotive value chain” are important axes that lay the foundation the development of economic relations and the strengthening of commercial cooperation between the two countries.
This is Iran’s largest presence at an international exhibition, so the Islamic Republic of Iran is the country with the largest presence at this exhibition, in a pavilion with 1,700 square meters of dedicated hall and 900 square meters of stands, which is unique in the history of overseas exhibitions.
Iranian automakers and auto parts makers display their latest products and achievements in the exhibition, which will run until Thursday.
More than 40 Iranian auto parts manufacturing companies, besides Iran’s two major automakers, Iran Khodro and Saipa, will discuss bilateral cooperation with their counterparts at this international event.
In this four-day exhibition, the center of exchange and transfer of technology and technical knowledge in the field of parts and automobile manufacturing is considered, which is expected to use Iran’s great capacity in manufacturing of parts due to the embargo on the Russian automotive industry.
Negotiations regarding the creation of a common platform between Iran and Russia or Iran, Russia and China are also underway, which offers good prospects.
