MOSCOW, August 6. / TASS /. Moscow’s medical equipment exports rose 2.1 times in January-May 2021, reaching a record high compared to the same periods in previous years, according to a statement on the Moscow mayor’s website on Friday.
“Moscow has posted record results in terms of exports of medical equipment in the first five months of this year compared to the same periods in previous years. In particular, exports of goods in this category [in money terms] amounted to $ 22.34 million, 2.1 times more than the same period last year ($ 10.33 million) and 90.6% compared to January-May 2019, when exports of medical equipment amounted to $ 11.72 million, “Moscow Deputy Mayor Vladimir Yefimov said.
“Moscow producers exported medical equipment to 81 countries around the world from January to May this year, with Kazakhstan leading the way in terms of purchases, with supplies amounting to $ 6.85 million, with 100.3% increase compared to 2019, “said Moscow’s head of investment and industry. Large volumes of medical equipment were exported to Uzbekistan (worth $ 2.43 million), the Netherlands ($ 2.24 million), India ($ 2.18 million ) and Belarus ($ 1.1 million). Mexico, Bangladesh, Ecuador, Nepal, Qatar and Norway have also become Moscow’s importers this year. In total, Moscow’s medical equipment exports to these markets exceeded $ 187,000.
