As part of the development of maintenance under mandate and after mandate of new generation railcars, the Research and Production Corporation “United Wagon Company” (“RPC UWC”, the “Group” or the “Company”) (MOEX: UWGN) , the world’s largest manufacturer of freight cars, continues to expand its service network into the 1520mm gauge area. The total number of the Company’s service centers in the CIS and the Baltic States reached 109 * (an increase of 14 centers compared to the end of 2020).
Scheduled maintenance (depot and overhaul) of freight wagons on 25 t axle load bogies, produced in the enterprises of the Tikhvin industrial site (based at the premises of the enterprise in the Leningrad region) , can now be carried out in 49 * service centers (an increase of 17 centers compared to the end of 2020). The rest of the centers have spare parts storage facilities for new generation cars to reduce downtime due to uncoupling repairs.
This year, UWC opened service centers in Kazakhstan and Belarus. The centers, the Akmola JSC (Nur-Sultan) auto repair plant, a private company, Kamkor Wagon (Karaganda and Pavlodar), a subdivision of the âNational Companyâ âKazakhstan Temir Zholyâ, and the Vitebsk branch of the unitary enterprise of Belarusian railways (Vitebsk), are allowed to carry out on-site and complete overhauls. Notably, UWC service centers in Kazakhstan opened in 2013 and the company has been developing a partnership with Belarusian railways since 2015.
